Cracking stuff I’ve been a big fan since the first series, which I stumbled upon by accident in the early hours one morning. Anyone know when the first series originally aired? I presume I stumbled upon a late night/early hours re-run but even still there seemed a massive gap between the 2nd series being aired.

I have the first series on DVD! There is a great episode where Mark starts to copy the Johnson and grows a little mustache in honour of him!

Great news! My housemate said she heard somewhere they weren't gonna do a 3rd series which I thought was a bit weird as it's already been on.
It's crazy that the ratings are so low though, they need to advertise it more it's easily the best comedy in the world over the last few years.

are ratings low?
i dont think shows like this need big audiences, in fact i prefer it when they have a cult following, nobody wants thickos to laugh at their jokes.

One of my housemates was a fan and she'd downloaded the first series which is how I watched it. 2003 according to imdb. can't remember when the second series was aired now. but probably a gap of about a year. Think original viewing figures for the first series were pretty poor but it got a following through re-runs and internet downloads. Shame c4 never fancied giving darkplace a second series. Although there's been talk of a film instead.
