Honda are always rumoured to be investing in Swindon, I remember the rumour about them wanting to put in £6 million in the premiership but they have no interest in English football so it is all nonsense.

didnt they want to invest when glenn hoddle was here, but wanted to put 2 japs on the board, & rikki hunt/mike spearman/whoever was in charge then said no. i also heard they wanted to change the colour of the kit to green or whatever their corporate colours were.

anyway, like you said, they are not interested in english football & only sponsor motor sports now.

however, if we signed a few japanese players, they might be interested again?? doesnt matter how crap they are but would be great for merchandise sales!

off you go iffy...

That'd be class getting a couple of short assed japs to play up front.  Hang on maybe we could make Curo and Thorpedo look Japanese we could save on the airfares.

The reason why west country football is so shit is because we dont have company's investing money in the clubs! This is why London teams and urban based teams are in a better situation because local busineses invest in them!

i dont think ive heard of a club being taken over by a big company itself just by some rich bastard who owns the companys and puts money in himself (abramovich) it would be very interesting to have a Honda Swindon FC thats for sure!

I'd rather see us fold than sell our club to the corporate dollar...

As ever complete bollox......you can just see a Rikki Hunt getting a sizeable offer for his recently acquired shareholding, and turning it down.

Rich speaks the truth...its only wealthy individuals who invest in English football never companies as aside from the cash cow that is manUre, you'll just lose your shareholders money, which is not the point of running a business.

Chester City stadium is the Saunders Honda Stadium. So they do have some interest.
