got this from Yahoo 'Big' Ron Atkinson is back in football, surprisingly working alongside a black manager, considering the reasons for his exit.
The former manager and TV pundit will be working alongside Swindon's manager Iffy Onuora.
The former Manchester United coach has been out of the spotlight since his racist remark about Marcel Desailly cost him his job as an ITV pundit.
Now the 66-year-old will take a role as football consultant at Swindon, who are bottom of Coca-Cola League One.
Atkinson said: "It will be great to be back around a football club again. It has been a long time.
"I am not going there to do a Clive Woodward. Iffy is the manager and I am there when he needs me. I will start tomorrow and see where we go."
It was in April 2004, after Chelsea's defeat by Monaco in the semi-final of the European Cup, when Atkinson made an off-air remark about then Chelsea defender Desailly.
Atkinson said: "I don't want to go there, I've apologised. End of story.
"I will put my track record up against anybody. Not just with footballers, but my record with people. It's gone, it's over, time to draw a line under it.
"Being called a racist annoyed me. It hurt me, but I'm not annoyed now. I understand what followed, I shouldn't have said it. I know that." |

Iffy denied it being a coaching role in 5Live this morning, by the sounds of it the story is actually the television program but some nutter at the daily mail has blown it up into a coaching/advisory role.
As a side note, Iffy was great on the radio, made the presenter look stupid. Not hard to do that mind.
