They're normally pretty accurate so there may well be something to it.

It could be one of these things where Ling's agent is trying to get a better contract off Hearn, by making it seem his man is in demand.....Lingy would have to be mad to leave Orient where things seem to be happening to come to us.

He does have it good at Orient and he'd have to be mad to jump ship at this stage despite admitting the 'cracks are starting to show.'

You have to reason he gets a call from Sandy Grey and lord knows what he'll think.

I'd be surprised if he comes here. I know he loves Swindon but he's got Orient going well so far this season, and it's a big risk taking us over when we're bottom of the league with no money to strenghen etc.

i think he will come TBH. its sounds like hes being pissed about at Orient and we have a better squad on paper than the table suggests so maybe he will think he can turn it around. it may take some time but i think he could be a good choice in the long term.

I'm not bothered if he does go..I still don't think he has got what it takes!!...It was only 3 weeks ago that everyone was calling for his head..me included!...Hopefully we can get someone with real qaulity and experience to get us out of this xxxx division and the next one too... Then maybe get us back to where we belong..The Championship!!

Is it every fans prerogative to have delusions of grandeur?   Shocked

A lot of them don't seem that bothered one way or another.  I think it would be a smashing appointment he's far more than Colin Calderwood on a fraction of the budget.

I'd like to see him take over, but as I said above he must view it as a risk with the position we're in.

i would rather keep iffy as manager to be honest.

ling doesnt strike me as the kind of person with authoritah. we need someone that will whip these players in to shape & not take any shit.

after last night i believe Iffy should be given a decent chance.

The players last night showed fight and comitment.
Ok Collins and Ifill were a bit suspect, but apart from that Ifill has had one training session and hasn't had chance to put his ideas accross.
For him personally he may want to try a few things each week just to test the players.

We as fans respect him as it showed last night and i believe the players do too. Especially after he went and patted every single one of them on the back when the game was over.

Update today.........

Leyton Orient - Ling plays down Swindon link EXCLUSIVE
29 Sep 2005 16:27

Quote
Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling has played down rumours that he is a contender for the vacant managerial role at Swindon Town, writes Richard Cawley.

The League One strugglers recently parted company with Andy King and have begun the process of selecting a new man to fill the County Ground hotseat.

Ling, a former Swindon player, has been mooted as a candidate for the job after guiding the O's to fourth in League Two.

But he told clubcall: "It's purely speculation and rumours that you get for any job that's advertised.

"The scenario is Swindon Town and Martin Ling. Martin Ling is doing a good job at Leyton Orient and had five good seasons at Swindon Town.

"I've got nothing more to add than that because it's no good me talking about speculation - there is nothing official from Swindon Town regarding Martin Ling. It's pure speculation and it will remain so."

Well there you have it Dazzza has posted that information and your going to read it at the end of the day.  It's no good Dazzza posting this crap if no one reads it.

Why does Martin Ling talk about himself so much in the 3rd person?

It's un-nerving if you ask Dazzza.
