Really hate driving these days, but I fancy this one. Is it an easy enough trip to do by train?

Getting to Manchester by train is easy enough.
I'm going via London Euston this time.
Alternatives are change at Bristol, Reading or Didcot for Oxford.
Maybe another change at Birmingham depending on route & time.

Getting to the ground is a pain.
Normally get the tram to Crumpsall and walk from there, about 35 minutes.
Then get a bus to Shudehill after the game and walk to Piccadilly.

About £70 to £80 return from Swindon with a senior railcard.

Looked way more than that when I looked on Trainline.

Can you point me towards the £80 fare?

Swindon to Manchester Picadilly leave Swindon 8.40 arrive in Manchester 11.59
Manchester Picadilly to Swindon leaves at 18.25 and arrives at 22.04.

Add a senior railcard (if you dont have one buy one as it will save you 1/3) that come sin at £73.64p as without a card its about £110.

When at Picadilly get a tram to Salford for a 5 to 10 min walk to the ground.

Have also looked at this, train from Cheltenham is around £50 return and easy parking at Cheltenham.

Is this on trainline? Which times have you looked at?

I can't get anywhere near £50 return

Anyone driving, if so where is the best place to park? Do we look for out of town parking and tram it in?
