My knees are fucked, my ankle aches, my hearing is going with tinitus as a nice bonus, my hair is a Right Said Fred tribute and I'm a fat bastard.

Still, can't complain.

Enjoy life, live it to the full as much as you can.

Age is a state of mind.

And don't let the bastards grind you down.

I am 47, overweight, drink too much, eat too much.
However, I play football 2/3 times a week, run a couple of times a week, so no complaints.

Hope it all goes well, Graeme x

No one warned me that insomnia is an after effect of a General anaesthetic.

I’m listening to Radiohead which usually works. But nothing doing. I can’t get no sleep.

If it’s not gone by Tuesday night you may find me asleep in the Arkells.

Any of you coffin-dodgers take any supplements for specific ailments - maybe instead of traditional pills?

It really depends on what you want to get out of joining. If you just want somewhere you can go in, plod along on the treadmill for a bit, lift some weights etc then go home then something like Pure gym is under £20 a month.

If you want classes etc as well Everlast had a complete refit and reopened last December, so they have the "newest" equipment of the main gyms here plus a pool and a steam room. I'm paying £40 a month there myself. I believe there's a cheaper offer as well for if you are not likely to travel or only use it off peak (something like 10am-5pm during the week any time weekends)

If you want pt lead training but don't want to pay £30-60 a session look at small group training rather than an actual gym. Those usually run somewhere along the lines of £100pm for 2 sessions per week to £120pm for 3 sessions per week.

Nope. Well unless all the meds count as supplements?

Will be off peak hours. Roughly 10am - Midday.

Some cardio machines + some weights would probably suffice.
Would love the whole shebang but that obviously drives prices up. Ideally wouldn’t want to go above £20 a month…

I'd definitely say look at Buzz, Kiss & Pure then. Pretty sure Pure was only £15 off peak when I was looking. Added bonus  if driving to get there pure has free parking as it's not in town centre
