I recon 10th to 12th currently.

With the current squad i think that's about right...

We coukd be looking at a  long depressing season

There are far too many goals and assists in the team for a bottom half position imo. Probably wrong

If Austin stays fit for the season, possibly

He is currently 20-1 to be top goalscorer in the league

The thing is we are a few players down on last season, important players like Brynn and Williams and havent added anythone other than an untried keeper.

When Morris was here we fell as low as 13th IIRC which is (just) in the bottom half.

But we havent added to the squad just taken away from it. (currently).

Yeah thats very much my view. And in hindsight the points from last season were won in the front half, and we had a lot more in the team at that point than we did in the tail half.

We may well assemble a squad worthy of top 10 prediction, but at this point, i just cant see it at all.

yeah that's possibly fair. You have to take Jonny Williams' goals and assists away but if you have Austin over a period of a season, you probably have them and more. Wakeling is a year older and so could add more to his contribution. You'd think a fully fit RHM might also weigh in more.

Perhaps my prediction is overly negative thinking about it.

Honestly think swapping Morris for Flynn will see us just outside the play offs with what we have at the moment.

I imagine Austin’s, Wakelings, RHM and Huttons goal contributions is bloody high between them. They’re all still here.

That seems on paper quite generous.

Wakeling and RHM (if fit too) I think we forget how many games Wakeling was played on the wing and even wingback last season. Great first season really

I would think lower mid table obscurity. But my worry is, that with no additions and a few defensive mistakes leading to defeats and a loss of confidence, we could be in a bit of trouble come the season's end. I can see us being a bit like Scunthorpe (was that last season or the season before?) where they played pretty football, but couldn't open teams up to score goals.

Wakelings attributes are very similar to that of Padraig Amond. Given how Flynn was able to get the best out of Amonds, feel he could do the same with Wakeling.

The problem is injuries, scratch away at the first 11 and there is nothing underneath.

That was what happened to Flynn at Walsall.

There is some money in the Conference this year, if York can outbid moneybags Jills for a striker!
