Equally would you have said Crawley's was a promotion squad last season. The fact is this is L2 and it's unpredictable
Indeed. Can't argue there. If I had £100 to bet on a team to be relegated last year it would have been Crawley.

But that's the point. It's so hard to tell. Yes we could still get promoted this year. Equally I can't say we definitely won't go down, not yet anyway.

If we continue to be run this way, then I think it is.  You can't predict which season though, and as I mentioned before, and you allude to, you can have a "lucky" season at this level.  While Crawley beat the odds (they are odds for a reason) do they really look like a club that is going to sustain that for long?  Even Accrington, who were sort of well run, couldn't hang on for too long because their supporting infrastructure just wasn't there and is unlikely ever to be.  Their case is very different, they over achieved because of how they were run.  In our case, we are run like a L2 club, maybe worse, so eventually the chickens will come home to roost unless something changes.
True, but the priority is to get there. Sustaining it is an argument for when we actually get there. Hopefully being a "bigger club" the prospects are slightly better for us than some

I'd suggest the evidence shows that not having a plan for the club that has some sort of material benefit creates the exact situation we find ourselves in though and goes back to the end of the Spurs agreement under Power.  After that, we got relegated, rolled the dice and got one promotion but couldn't hang on to it and been in terminal decline ever since.  If we get up, without immediate structural change, we look primed to get back to where we are quite quickly.  Hoping for promotion and not having any other plan is asking for trouble when a teams in that league are now spending real money.

Clem just seems a very inept businessman to me

If you are fortunate enough to buy any business in any sector and you  do not have the relevant experience on your top team you go out and recruit a football CEO

Surely this would be a sound investment for him- he’s hardly going to get any of his so called investment back if we remain on a downward spiral is he

And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

Has the bike rack been officially shelved? is the plan to let people tie their bikes with string to the new shrubbery?

Ahead of tonight's Mindset Improvement Forum, a reminder that it was just over three years ago that Clem shared his seven minimum aims for the club, which were to:

-Build a sustainable Championship club
-Own the County ground 50-50 with the fans
-Very significantly improve and fully modernise the County Ground
-Find and fully develop our own training ground
-Have the best academy outside of the Premier League
-Have a young first team with high-quality players that have come through the academy
-Have a fan base that is growing, and where as many as possible of the children in the town and surrounding communities are Swindon fans and their heroes are Swindon players

A solitary one out of seven.
