Look, people just don't know how much there is to do at a football club. There is a pitch, and stands, and players and an academy, and some clubs don't even talk to their fans!
Fuck me, thank god he isn't running the club day to day and we have a reliable CEO in place with plenty of experience to fill those gaps............
He basically got given a few good lines when he was cajoled into buying out Power, and has not developed any sort of knowledge and know how in the intervening period. But at least he speaks to Gav about how to run a football club, that makes me feel a lot better.
"look, we did an Academy on a Sunday in Australia and had about 50 kids" - you did a fucking soccer camp for the local Rec league (I'm using my American lookalike as reference here). After you subtract the cost of getting Gav over there, we probably just about broke even on something that has no lasting value whatsoever. The club in question doesn't even reference us since that visit. It's one debacle after another, with every decision driven by a short term whim.
I suspect he got the question wrong when answering about the DR stand work. He mentioned Jan 2025, but that has to be when he thinks they might get it all agreed. The fanzone took a few months to get approval, and as far as I am aware the Great STFC Gravel Pit and Shrubbery Festival is not ready for a prime time audience yet. I have no confidence they'd get boxes in by Jan if they haven't even drawn up plans yet. The way he was talking, about the Legends being the blue print it does worry me a bit about what will actually happen as well. A bit DIY SOS, or 60 minute makeover. Even that idea precedes his involvement.
