Lateral flow replaces PCR day 2 test after coming into UK from 24th, bookable 22nd. This applies to fully vaccinated and to U18s returning from non-red list countries.
Should make it a bit cheaper, even if you can't use the NHS ones (of which we have a stockpile!).

Why can't the NHS ones be used, doesn't this rather suggest that they are a bit cheap and pointless?

Why can't the NHS ones be used, doesn't this rather suggest that they are a bit cheap and pointless? my opinion is it's a question of perception. should NHS money be used in foreign holiday testing. I mean, it probably shouldn't morally. But that said, it would be trying to stimulate travel so maybe that's not valid. with PCR tests you need a reference code for your landing card. if that is a requirement still then again that burden shouldn't be put on NHS/public sector to implement I'm my opinion, obviously

Thanks Batchster
The government website does not help one bit. So many companies.
So you do not need to order before departure for the locator form?

I don't know how it's going to work
For the PCR tests you had to order it before coming back. You got an email confirmation with the reference numbers of the test kits in. These reference numbers are used in the UK locator form filled in before coming back.
I assume it's going to be the same
last time we ordered our tests before we went. But this time because we are flying before the lateral flow kits are available will order them while in holiday.

On a road trip with Mrs cs. First stop the Shakespeare Inn in Kendall. On the menu, wobbly Bob pie. They've only gone and named a pie after a tefer.

Wasn't sure where to put this and couldn't be bothered starting a new thread but I was on holidays last week to Blackpool and had visitors last weekend and part of that was to take the kids to some Lego place and Cadbury World in Birmingham. Whilst the kids were doing their lego thing the wife and I had a wander around the place.
We went from the canal to New Street and whilst they are doing a lot of modernisation along Broad Street as part of the Commonwealth Games next year and I have to say I was impressed with what I saw. I had never really had any desire to visit the place, but as we are now closer to Brum than London it looks like somewhere I'd like to go back and spend some time there, there looks like some decent bars and of course a stack of Indian restaurants. Anyone been that could provide any of the usual recommendations of places to eat and drink and things to see and do?
