I love a good lardy. Not found one round here, not looked too far.

I'l tell you something else. The demise of the rum baba is a travesty. Not everything in the 70s/80s was bad.

Marshalls Bakery in either Pewsey or RWB.

Award winning lardy cakes and they can bung them in the post as well.

I love a bit of lardy cake.

The wife's grandfather used to own & run a bakery and makes the best lardy I've ever tasted.

Bassett Bakery do them, but it's not a patch on his.

The bakers on Clive Parade and the one in Moredon (owned by the same people) have a decent lardy

There used to be a bakery in Purton that made smashing bread and right mean lardy, sadly they closed down a few years ago

I was thinking of lardy cake recently, I don't think I've ever seen it near me, it was always in stock at my nan's house though.

I think I'll try to make one on Sunday.

I used to get one every week in the mid 80's from a bakery in Purton!

Whenever I go to see my best mate in Scotland I have to take him 4 or 5 of these so he can freeze them and eat them when he feels the need. They don't have anything similar north of Brum.

We have a great one down here that I use, Evershot bakery between Dorchester and Yeovil but they sell all over the South West, I used to love Devon Savouries ones but they have long since ceased trading.

Shefford's Bakery in Faringdon does the best lardy cake i've tasted in years but a bit closer for you is the coop in Covingham. They sometimes sell it. I think it might be Emma's bakery on the label.
