Must admit to not being tech savvy on such matters.

We have a local Brit on the island that provides broadband and also iptv from Portugal. We are limited to 10GB daily download. The speed is iffy - usually around 5mbps but sometimes dropping to less than 2 which inevitably makes watching TV nigh on impossible.

His web page states ‘unlimited bandwidth’ but with a small print proviso of ‘fair and equitable usage’. I’m convinced he’s throttling the speed and also bandwidth because he has a growing number of clients but no more bandwidth. He denies this of course. I’ve had a blazing row with him and am looking for an alternative.

All I can see is buying a 4G router and signing up to Vodafone Greece’s unlimited data plan - but that is €70 per month - iptv subscription on top of that, too.

Is there any other alternative?

he's the only broadband provider in the village?

but tricky to say specifically, you've got fixed line or you've got wireless .

wireless may be just as bad depending on how congested the cell is

Wireless. The local landline is even worse. The line goes down for days at a time regularly.

Could my present iptv service - mytvonline - could be the cause of the buffering and freezing?
