^^^^^^^^
still get flashbacks wherever singing is played off "the Gateway tape"
'I guess that's why the call it the blues' could be the reason I can't attend Elton John

Any shit by Black Lace, incidentally who I have seen live and they are shocking.
But for me its this pile of utter trash that used to be played at every wedding etc I ever attended in Swindon, although not so much in Somerset so far.
Even posting it makes me feel dirty, hateful shit.

Well, we know where we're goin' But we don't know where we've been And we know what we're knowin' But we can't say what we've seen And we're not little children And we know what we want And the future is certain Give us time to work it out

Used to go there most weekends up to about ‘72. One mega punch up springs to mind.

Problem was with Corsham being the mid point twixt Swindon and Bristol there was always an element of both sets of fans. Although I lived in Corsham all my mates were from Chippenham and we’re all Town fans.

To clear the room at the end of the night, my local disco used to turn the lights up full and play Daytrip to Bangor by Fiddler's Dram.

I don't have much in the way of songs, other than maybe drunkenly singing along to American Pie at shit student nights.
Nightclubs on the other hand..... Goldiggers in its twilight years, Baby D and One Nation jungle nights...... Being the only Chippenham lads on the bus to Reflextions in Westbury...... The R&B room at Oscars 😅...... Getting punched by a gorilla in Boss Hogg's.....

Apologies for taking off topic, but fan base and geography has always fascinated me. To me, Chippenham is also pretty much midpoint twixt Brizzle and Swindon. Is the affinity because Town is Wiltshire's only league club ? Back on topic....the great Chuck Berry...My ding a ling. FFS.

North Wilts is Swindon with a touch of Bristol, West Wilts is the other way around.

Exactly, that's my take, plenty of Southampton, Rovers, Slavetrader fans around here but when asked why I support Swindon I always reply - at least its in Wiltshire - why don't you follow your local team ?.
