Thanks for the heads up, this was one of my favourite seasons as a Town fan, been searching online for games from this season for ages.
Spurs, Wolves, Arsenal all H & A and the 8-0 vs Bury that season, great games.

I see they spelt Rowland as Roland on the TV teamsheet in the home game vs Spurs!
Wouldnt happen now, unless its the STFC teamsheet which has had several incorrect names already this season!

Also there was way more than 26,000 in the County Ground for the Spurs game, I have never felt so cramped in the Town End as I did that afternoon, was way more than the Wolves game that season (also 26,000).

Things you didn't know you didn't know.....looking at Richard Banyard's Facebook page, I see he is friends with Paul Reg (who someone on here thinks is Reg.... ), who is friends with Dave Bamber, who studied Economics at the University of Leicester. Who'd have thought it.....

Those Spurs/Wolves games, just turning into 1980, were the last when you'd get a proper rammed CG with over 25,000. The highest gate since I make to be v ManUre, in the Prem, 18000+

There was 18,627 for the West Ham cup game in 89, but apart from that i guess Man U is the highest.

I've no recall of that game whatsoever..... my older boy, was only just born, so that perhaps is why the mind is blank

Yeah I vaguely remember the game vs Wet Spam in 89, they brought well over 5k but then they are always well supported in games vs Town. I remember Diggers playing a blinder, but not a lot else.

I guess if the scoreline had been more memorable... I remember a cup game v West Ham in the midish 70's, midweek I was living in London, came down and entered at Stratton Bank turnstile, now up til about then you could walk around the terracing, so I set off for the TE to find a fence about half way along

They were given the Stratton Bank. Those normally there had to go in the away end - Or rather corner! Bloody awful view. Remember West Ham having a few inflatables in the Stratton Bank. A game of few chances for us. Leroy Rosenior was on fire for them at the time. Chance to see Liam Brady, who was fading fast at the time. Remember being gutted that we lost the replay.

Has anybody ever seen footage from the Arsenal away game in 79 (Billy Tuckers equaliser) as I've never came across any highlights from that tie other than the home replay
