My Nan has described what sounds like a cat's face on her tick. Can it be removed at home instead of a trip to the vet?

I think the next vet's visit will probably see my nan put down, nobody wants that.

Before trying the procedure, try to calm your nan with Werther's Original. The cotton candy is really soothing to them.

You can get cat removal tools which help grip the cat at the head and twist it out.  The key is to get the cat as low down as possible, don't leave the head behind.

And wear gloves, you want to avoid any liquid coming out of the cat, it is not good for you and the tick.

Shoot the cat. The tick will be fine
