I'll not steal PVs away fan thunder, but the forum I just browsed seemed to have the same opinion we did about the game

That ticked a lot of boxes... comeback win in difficult circumstances with new boys putting down a marker.

Yep, sets up a nice marker now for v Exeter. That will give us an idea of where we are, then followed up by Cheltenham. Your favourite fixture  Pint

That's gone now.

Will have to look at last week's thread to find the post match thing that they are doing I guess. Anyone found it?

Enjoyed that. at half time i said that last season we will lose this 2nd half 1 nil, (dominating chances/possession without scoring). The players put in absolutely everything and that showed- i have had big issues with the intensity of our teams for the last couple of seasons- these proper fought for everything and got everything we deserved.

I can't say a player had a bad game. It was a shame to concede the 2 that we did but will need to watch them back to see if anyone was to blame- even though it doesn't matter.

We could have won by a large margin- the difference compared to last season was that we had to settle just for a win.

If you see my half time post that says their fans txt ins agreed with the TEF synopsis and none agreed with the ignorant Cumbrian commentators Wink

ok. not at it's most brilliant but not anywhere near a morgue either.

I think people want to get behind the team, you can feel it.

Wellens:
- DJ out for 9-12 weeks
- Need to get replacement as not enough attacking options
- Not signing the goalkeeper. Happy with LMc
- Doesn't want to be rushed into making wrong decisions and being stuck with players
- Waiting for international clearance for the French midfielder
- Pressley complained about dugout when he came down on Tuesday (which was why it was moved)

You could feel the desire and hope from the fans in the ground willing the team to show what they are about and by and large the team did. From the fans, both DR and the TE were singing which has been a rarity over the last few seasons. Nice touch that all the players did a 3/4 lap taking and giving due applause along with RW. I hope that continues.

Carlisle comms now full of praise for Swindon saying we deserved to win by more goals and that they are very impressed with our team.
They've certainly got that right. We could have had 5 today and it wouldn't have flattered us. Thoroughly entertaining game, we played some lovely stuff, the new signings all look decent, even, in fact especially, those that came in during preseason on trial who apparently couldn't possibly be good enough. Genuinely excited to watch the team, disappointed I'm away for the next game, been a long time since I've said that. Loving Wellensball so far!

Thoroughly entertaining game,

It was and it is this, in addition to the result, that will start putting more bums on seats. If it continues of course. It will take a while because there have been a few false dawns in recent years, gingers crossed this is the real deal.

Ooops, that's supposed to say 'fingers crossed', but I think I'll just leave it as it is.
