Looking at the cheapest way to get from Swindon to Heathrow T5.

Train from Swindon to Heathrow (via Paddington) is around 47 quid.

Coach from Swindon to Heathrow is around £30 but would rather stick with the train.

I've figured out that i can do Swindon to Reading  then Reading to Hayes and Harlington and onto Heathrow for around £32. Has anyone done this trip? Is it a pain the arse and actually worth saving £15?

Why not drive? So much easier.

This is true but, i'm going out for work midweek and then my wife is meeting me on the Friday so we have a weekend in Paris and she will be driving the car to Heathrow.

If it gets you there a bit earlier then you could take a book  Smiley
If it's for work aren't they paying for it anyway?

We're still weighing up who's going to drive and who will get the train/bus out of me the wife.

If only these auto drive cars were a bit more advanced, you could drive to Heathrow and the car would drive itself back.... sorted.

Yep I'd be claiming the train on expenses if it was me.

Swindon - Reading, Reading - Feltham, Bus. Not much fun, but should be cheap.
