Not a particularly energetic pitch inspection. Correct decision though. Another 15-20 mins then who knows.
Stay of execution for them.

I said at half time when it started to absolutely piss down and there was thunder and lightning around that I was expecting to be delayed. When they came out and started, you could see straight away the ball wasn't rolling properly, and when it started pissing down again, it was bound to be abandoned. The corner of the Town End/Arkells was absolutely waterlogged.

Not sure what to make of that. Referee seemed to do a half arsed attempt at a pitch inspection whilst being all the Rovers players and management doing their bit to influence him. 10-15 more minutes and that surface water would have gone.

Really enjoyed our first half display and the good linking of our strikers.

It needed longer than that and a groundstaff to actually take water off the pitch. The corner of the pitch by the TE/Arkells was totally waterlogged.

If anything they'd have been trying to persuade him to play, it clearly suited their style of play far better than us, the puddles destroyed our passing game. 10-15 more minutes and that surface water would have gone.
Except it didn't.

Agree, although at half time, was slightly concerned that they'd have gone in feeling they'd weathered the storm (ha ha, no pun intended) whereas we'd perhaps be feeling we'd not taken our chances when we were clearly much the better side

Just got back from the aqua park in sunny Lanzarotte. Great for me that the game was abandoned, I should be able to make the rearranged fixture.
