Yep - Went to an all inclusive place on the opposite side of the island to the airport a couple of years ago. Really hot. Didn't venture off the resort.

There are hotels on both sides of the island but the middle looked like a scene from Star Wars.

Pretty much this.
Stayed at the Riu Touareg last September.
Flights there and back were hell but for reasons that weren't linked to the holiday destination.

We got there a day after a hurricane had gone through the place.
Few bent trees and broken parasols but next to no sign of what had happened the previous day.

I've been there twice and going back in August. Not much to do apart from relax, swim and tan - perfect if that's what you want.

Sal is desolate, nice fish and cheap caprinhas, watch your valuables or else they may go walkies.

We looked at Cape Verde for out honey moon but as a lot of people have said, it's good if you go all inclusive and stay in the resort.

Not helpful for you Tans but loads of people from Cape Verde live in Luxembourg - I think because its a Portuguese island?

Actually, that reminds me, have to get my Visa for Turkey for next week and book accomodation in the Carribean for our holiday in September!
