It's better to aim high and miss than aim low and hit.

It has to be a relatively high figure otherwise no one would bother.
Psychologically, if someone says "let's raise £100" you're going to be more likely to donate than if they said "let's raise £20". In that case you'd just say sod it, they'll get that anyway so I don't need to get involved.

Exactly.

I don't believe any true Town fan would be negative towards an attempt to get more Swindon fans to an away game. Some people on this forum clearly need to cheer up and get a dog/girlfriend/hobby.

I prefer it when there are less, more room at the bar! Was a pain in the arse PDC L2, we kept selling out and I could never get a beer at half time. Burton, Stevenage, Northampton, Aldershot and Dagenham spring to mind (although daggers may have been the year before)

Aldershot was packed. I remember one of their stewards saying that we were a bigger handful for them than when they played Man United at home in the cup the same season.

Most have married and now have kids. Hence while we are all miserable gits.

Many moons ago, the TEF was a different atmosphere.

I'm not sure there's a lot of evidence to project your situation onto the TEF collective...

Just going to throw this out there, but isn't the maximum allocation for away fans around 4,000?

There you go, there's always someone that goes and ruins the party. Bloody realists.

Are you trying to reach out Si? I can see what you are calling out here. We need to understand the upside. Please keep us all in the loop.

I don't think they'd struggle for space to move the netting along a bit.

Won't take that many anyway so no issue.

Personally I think the trust should concentrate on home games. Not that I'm anti this cause of course, unrealistic as it is.

I would imagine away allocations are agreed months in advance with the local bill and stewarding levels arranged so its somewhat more than just moving netting.

It's better to aim high and miss than aim low and hit.

I think a lot of our midfielders share this opinion....
