he'll be a decent wage, possibly along the lines of some of our middle-top earners, he's got a great future ahead of him would love to see here again

Holmes was good for us last season but TBH he is not the player we need right now cos we don't have Parkin to convert his crosses. OK we have Fallon but we still have 2 miget strikers.

Okay he is maybe not the player we need right now, and I totally agree thant it would be impractical to sign him right now, but he is a class act.

Holmes is exactly what we need, at the moment our strikers are starving and Heath, Nicolau, Whalley, Smith etc arent giving them any services.

Holmes would provide a spark, an outlet and some decent services

We dont JUST need a ball winning midfielder

they are but we don't look tight enough. i'd prioritise the ball winning midfielder with the hope that that can free up whalley a bit more, there's no doubting his class.

the midfield will work soon, it's just going to a case of it working and i think a bullockesque player would make it work.

I'll also add to the debate that Holmes looks shit when we fail to utilise him properly. How many times was he missing for 45 minutes when no one gave him the ball?  Nearly every single game. He is too good for us to use properly.

If we had Holmes and Summerbee on the wings we'd win the league.*

* probably not but we'd do quite well!

I think Shakes is fine on the right judging by the Wycombe performance.
He hugged the touchline and looked dangerous when he was actually given the ball. If Whalley was free to pass it around a bit then Shakes could be very influential as an outlet.
