Over the last 10 years or so the team finishing 2nd in L1 do better in the Championship than the team winning L1 - more often than not.

Luton, winning in 2004, being prime example

In our next five games we have 4 home games (Crawley, Bradford, Gillingham & Notts Co) with an away game at Crewe in between. All extremely winnable.

Eminently, but as always it is all in our own hands.

Well, we know where we're goin'
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowin'
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

Look, it was highly doubtful the top 3 sides could or would keep up the sort of form that got them clear from the pack - we would all end up with nigh on 100 points each.

Just be grateful we are still 2nd - somehow!

Think none of the top 3 could maintain that kind of form. Just got to keep our heads and hope we've had our blip now. Win next few home games and all will be fine again.

You know what. I think that if we can hold onto 2nd place (at least) for the rest of the season, then we might just go up.

FUCK YEAH!

Apparently "Cotts" was a bit of a dick today. To be biased towards things I've previously said about his childish nature and his ability to spectacularly lose a dressing room, this COULD be the point at which he starts to lose his team. It's happened previously and he has it in the locker to do it in record time.

Saying that, I think I'd rather 82unlimited go up, than that team that stands as a symbol for all that is bad in football.

I think Matt Smith leaving will be difficult for them. They should still go up. Sheff Utd are ones to watch I think

I agree.

I think it's a funny one, I think we're good enough (still) to go up automatically, but I worry about finishing in the Playoff places. I'm not 100% sure that we would go up if we finished there.

That's not to be pessimistic, of course. I think wherever we finish would be a massive achievement..

I still have a good feeling on the autos spot, though.

Even the 82ers' fans agree he was a nob on the radio afterwards.

That's true.  And seems to be a commonly held view right across our fanbase.  I heard it several times yesterday from different people.

But we may not get a choice.  One of Franchise or the Traders may screw up between now and the end of the season, but it would be very unlikely for both to.  We have to celebrate the failures of all of our promotion rivals.   Cheesy
