I haven't used android for years so m stuck trying to sort out my mums! Gone to play store and installed Skype,Facebook etc, but they are not coming up on desktop so I can't open them??? Help???

They won't show on the home screens unless you add a shortcut. You need to click on the apps symbol which should be at the bottom of the home screen (looks like a bunch of squares or dots).

If you still can't see them when you've done that then sometimes there is a tab on the next screen that comes up (at the top) which shows either apps or widgets and you obviously need to select the apps tab.

What device is it as this would help? A lot of manufacturers put there own UI/Skin over the top of the Android system to make it look slightly different.

Lenovo tablet, been on to apps in settings but can't find a thing

Oh for fucks sake !!!! Spent 2 hours going through settings and all I had to do was turn it on and off again!!!
