I need to replace a hedge trimmer, and can't decide whether to go cordless or not. Corded models have more power, but I'm less likely to cut through the cable (again) on a cordless version.
I'm going all 4D. Any advice from anyone?

How big is the hedge Ardiles??
I've always gone corded and accepted that I will cut through the cable on numerous occasions. However last year I bought a Bosch battery powered strimmer which makes life a lot easier. Also Bosch have this interchangeable battery pack thing going on so a lot of their equipment uses the same power pack. Means you'll have a greater chance of one being charged.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one to cut through trimmer cord.
Got called all sorts of things by Mrs Audrey when I did it.
I shall now seek my revenge

We have a lot of hedges, front and back. Cutting back is pretty much a full time job, so I'm after something fairly heavy duty. I'm veering towards another corded model, but not sure yet. Something like this maybe - and preferably with a belt clip for the cable. How's the power on your cordless model, Bewster?

I think he means the link in his own post, which is for an electric one.

Ah, didn't spot "this ". Still think he's referring to Bewster's link.

For the avoidance of doubt, the RCD is for the new corded model. Many thanks for your confidence in me, chaps. I'm honoured.

Stop being gaylords and get yourself a decent petrol driven bit of kit from Stihl.
