The Football in the Community Trust has welcomed five visitors - 3 coaches and 2 young players - to the club for a three week visit from their partners in Livingstone, Zambia.  This link is rapidly broadening out across the town and surrounding areas with six schools now linked with schools in Livingstone, the Central Library and the Museum considering links, together with the Catholic congregation at Holy Rood.  Intel and other local businesses are supporting the link, including Green Machine, who recondition computers and give a proportion of them away to charities and community organisations.

If anyone would like to get involved, or thinks their business, school, college, sports club etc might be interested, come along to Christchurch Community Hall on Cricklade St on Easter Monday (21st) from 11am to 1230pm.  The Zambian High Commissioner is visiting, and a number of those already involved, plus the visitors in Livingstone will be there to brief him and others from Swindon.  PM me if you would like more information.

A great deal of excellent work, which both goes unnoticed to a great extent, and also which has huge potential for building the fanbase for STFC, especially among the younger ones! (And that goes for Community Trusts all over the country.

The Zambian High Commissioner and colleagues, and the visitors from Zambia thoroughly enjoyed their day at the club yetsreday and the hospitality offered by the FITC staff.  Swindon South MP, Robert Buckland and two Borough Councillors also spoke really positively about the work being done by the community team, and especially the fast-growing link with Livingstone.  A great piece of work.....(and by the way Jed had no interest whatsoever in the work they do...not least growing wide support for the club right across the age ranges.)
