I watched the Scotland game round a mates’s house who had absolutely no idea about football. Mrs Audrey spent some time trying, and failing, to explain the offside rule.
He ended up supporting Scotland! He’s coming to the bar this evening so I’ll be trying to persuade him to come as ‘German looking’ as he can.
Anyone got a helmet with that spiky thing on top?

Ah Das Pickelhaube or Pickelhelm, very Freddie Starr but always good for a bit of German mocking. Make sure you wear your Dambusters style pilots helmet.

Unless you are at the match, football should be watched at home. Watching televised football in a pub or other such venue is a cringe fest.
On the whole I mainly agree with you. Aside from when Swindon are on TV and there is a group of us that meetup in a pub. The play-off away leg at Sheffield United was a magic time with just a small group of amiable Town fans. That certainly would have beaten sitting at home that night!

There wasn't a bad one at Waterloo Station from memory. And when I had to work in Bangalore there was a cracking one there around the corner from our hotel. Ok, do you have a decent bar out there that shows the games Aud?

Not had cider for ages, not something i tend to buy, but when I do, Old Rosie is my favourite. Nice and sharp. It's sad looking through this thread and seeing Reg's name crop up I imagine you've drank a few in your time behind the bar!
