With an Apple TV. Just need to press a button to stream any of my Apple devices to the TV, no setup required.

It costs £99. But it just works, good for picture slideshows and streaming (eg iPlayer) from your iPhone or iPad. Really portable as well as it's a small box, so you can use it for presentations and the like. Connects to TV with HDMI.

Does some other cool stuff as well.

We are an apple household and didn't know about this. Cheers Jonny, might give it a look in the new year if we get a new TV.

On another note, has anyone got one of those F5 skybox things?

I understand you can get sky tv and box office etc for free on it, you just update the encryption codes with a usb stick

I would have thought a tv could easily be used as a monitor, sounds a bit of a minefield.

Si, I basically want to play video from my hard drive on TV, but your saying I need to save it to a flash drive and go down that route?

No but it's less fucking about and more cost effective. Plus you have full control through the telly, if you use it as a monitor you end up having to control the video on the laptop.

Or you could buy a Macbook and an Apple TV because it's super ace.

If you have a network port on your tv you can do away with the Apple TV.
