Short thread probably.  But I just want to check what other parents are doing.

My reading of the Official Site is as follows: tickets for kids, whether in the Don Rogers or Arkells Stands, are £12.  However, Under 10s get in for free so long as they are signed up for the season as Junior Reds at a cost of £25.

I'm unable to see any Kid-a-Quid deals (or similar), as used to exist.  So am I right in thinking that anyone who is thinking of taking their pride & joy to at least 2 games this season is best off signing them up as Junior Reds?  Or have I missed something?

Thanks in advance.

And one other thing (slightly off topic)...my STFCMyWorld membership card has not been dispatched, despite my signing up about 2 weeks ago.  Is this normal?

I think you are correct, U10 when accompanied by adult is free provided they are a JR member.

In fact, they can get a season ticket at no additional cost. Though unless you also have a ST then its pointless.

I have a Junior Red ST for my son, £25 a season and he gets to go free to any game that I go to. Although its turned out that my daughter loves going as well so they now have to fight over which games they get to go.

As long as you go more than twice you've covered the cost.

Pretty sure you can have 2 junior reds with each adult

Wouldn't worry about the delay on the card - they take a while to come through. Ask in the shop if any doubt, they're very helpful

Apologies for the stream of questions.  But here's another.

Is the Swiss Chalet in Gorse Hill sufficiently child friendly that you could take a couple of little ones in (with a group of adults) on a match day?  Some pubs are definitely adults only, I know.  I've not been in there for quite some time.  Thanks.

Yeah...just saw that.  We're probably parking in Gorse Hill, so thought I might give the Swiss Chalet a try.  Maybe the Cricket Club would be a better bet.

Here's a strange one!  We take my grandson with us, had to buy him a st this year as he was over the age limit for a free one!  My daughter went to get his Plymouth ticket put on his card and they said they couldn't do it as "the account is in her name"!!  This may have been true when he was a JR but as I paid for his st I would have at least thought it would have been in my name, but no she was met with a flat refusal. When she said how come she could buy Torquay and Chelsea tickets on the card for him they said it must have been an error!!  Apparently she had a few words and said she was going to main reception to sort it out, whereupon they said "Oh ok, we will do it for you this once!"  Right hand, left hand comes to mind or piss-up in a brewery!!

Madness Ron, My brother went up yesterday and sorted out five tickets (all season ticket holders) for the Plymouth game. No fuss, money paid, tickets on card, accounts in many names.

Hold on, are you saying they implied that only the purchaser of the ST can buy cup tickets for the ST?

I strongly recommend going online to purchase.  once his account is activated you can link it to your online account under friends and family and buy the ticket on his behalf from your account.

Batch, I don't think they had a clue what they were doing to be honest.  I usually get my sons ticket and his girlfriend's ticket when I get my own for cup games etc. and never had a problem - even though they live in Bicester (I'm in Swindon) and obviously the girlfriend's is in a different name!!  We buy our st at different times as they are on the hire purchase scheme and I managed to pay for mine outright!  It was some young girl who initially refused him his ticket but an older lady who eventually sorted it out.  I really wouldn't have thought it mattered whose account it was in as long as they got their money.  As for doing it online, I really don't have a clue about going about it, sorry, I am an old guy who can send e-mails and occasionally surf the internet!!

Well its all a bit odd the Ronnie. Suspect its a mistake on the girls part.

Online purchasing isn't so bad, but probably best for someone to show you through it one day if you aren't confident. You seemed OK with the forums so figured you were tech savvy Smiley
