I generally don't drink inside the CG so don't actually know the answer to this surprisingly, but can you drink at football these days?

The reason I ask is that me and 4 mates are going to Millwall v Leeds on Saturday (shame Swindon are away Sad ) and one of them asked if you can drink at the ground and it got me thinking that I wasn't totally sure.

Got my tin hat for Saturday!  Pint

It depends.

Yes you can drink. As long as a) the stand has a licence b) you do so in the designated areas. There is some stupid rule that you can't drink in sight of the pitch or some such nonsense.

Both times I've been to New Den (once with Swindon), drink was available to be consumed in the concourse - plastic bottle bollocks though...

Yes,  alcohol will be available in the concourse bars at the New Den.  The police/local authority along with the home club do sometimes order to not sell beer in the away sections for 'high risk' games such as a Millwall vs Leeds one but it'll be okay where you are sitting down the opposite end from the visiting support.  The New Den compared to their old ground is like chalk and cheese as far as intimidation is concerned.  That atmosphere should be quite lively though.

Are we converting you Bovis ? Seem to be hanging around a bit after the game?

You should go to one of our away games bovis, we don't  often wait long getting a half time beer! Unlike when we took 6-7 k to Fulham in the cup. I'm still spitting feathers from that, you must get it all the time, big queues , no chance of a beer?

Very rarely drink inside grounds tbh. Overpriced and plazzy glasses.  Normally well lagered up pre-match to see the whole match through.  Smiley  Bloomin' media took over that Bar 71 too on Tuesday.

Drinking at football is standard around most grounds.
