True but he's a better ball winner than Whalley.

Also he has probally lost alot of his pace from years ago when he was a winger.

Scott Leitch was very average, Summerbee was great.

What do you mean by we don't need any more right wingers because we have how many, one? Ricky Shakes.

On a non-contract basis there is no downside, if it doesn't work out it's not a problem but it will be great to see Summerbee in a Swindon shirt again, as he was pure class. Also has officially the hardest shot of anyone ever.

Fucking top move and an excellent signing but without putting an instant dampner on things completely wrong sort of player.

That said he'll be an excellent addition to the squad and an experienced head to boot.

Despite being released last season he was rather good for Bradford, scoring a few and getting plenty of assists.  The move came about after a couple of spats with Todd came to a head.

Did mention him when he got released.

No one in the slightest bit miffed with him still after the way he pre-announced his departure in the Premiership?

I got some fat-arse boner over this one.  Yes it's sentimental and he's probably not the man we need right now - I'm not really old enough (only properly followed Swindon for about 7 years) to remember Summerbee but having seen him play for Bradford I thought he was a quality player, and crossing ability shouldn't disappear with age.  With Fallon in the box to head in a pin-point ball we could be laughing.  Parkin would have been in dreamland had he had Summerbee's service!

Ultimately, seeing as this signing is on a non-contract basis it's a win-win situation.  Hopefully he turns out to be a steal and provide some competition for Shakes.  Am not totally convinced by Roberts on the right, although could this spell curtains for him?
