My other half had to restore her laptop back to the factory settings, but only backed up some of her stuff on DVD. Now she's unable to open said disc to download her files. It's photos that she's mainly worried about. Any ideas?

Unable to open how? Unable to see the disk, or there is something on the disk but you are unable to open the file?
