Nicky Hammond. Suffers from comparison with Fraser, and everyone seems to remember his horror shows as well, even after all these years. But on his day, he was a very accomplished goalkeeper. I'm fairly sure that he did keep Fraser out of the side for significant periods.
Better shot stopper than Digby, but not as good at coming for crosses, and coudn't kick to save his life.

And Nicky Hammond at home to Barnsley in 1992...pure fucking magic.
Away to Millwall at the Den. I wasn't there but I remember from the season highlights video him pulling off a string of unbelievable saves. He also had a preference for the black and purple keeper shirt (the Burmah triangle one) which beat the black and yellow one that Fraser preferred hands down.

Bamber underated? The bloke was loved and had his name sung. Comminges was overated and never deserved player of the year.

Wasn't it Hammond that had a blinder of a game away to QPR when we were in the premier. We won 1-0 and it was down to some of his fantastic saves we managed to pull off the double over them.
Edit: Just looked at the stats and we actually won 3-1 there. Maybe it was the West Ham game that has been previously mentioned.

Must admit a few names on here I did not expect, Bamber, Thorne & Foley who were all very highly rated by almost all Swindon fans.

Did the thread say under rated by Swindon fans?.....generally under rated than Foley is a shoe in.....very under rated outside of Swindon i reckon. Real class and really suprised a a bigger club didn't grab him while he was at the peak.
