Ex Sheffield Wednesday chairman who sold up to Mandaric - has links to Jed and was with him on Tuesday night in the Legends pre match.

In a recent interview he said he wanted a return to football - could this be one of the backers?

I think we've got every bad egg in football lurking in the shadows.

I liked his irreverent jokes about the Catholic Church and the way he smoked continually throughout his set

I think CHRIS is plucking names out of a hat at random. It was Paul Duffen a minute ago on (one of the many) other thread.

But he has sources.

I sadly don't.

I've got no reason to believe or disbelieve him but if people are plucking names out of a hat at random just to cause alarm, get a few responses and have a little bit of a giggle...then this forum really has become a waste of time.

Do the Mail journalists not realise we've already been taken over/ sold?

We've certainly got an insight as Swindon fans over the last month or two into how little research actually gets put into these tabloid stories.

In this case I get the feeling a tans-esque rogue edit of Prince Alwaleed's Wikipedia page, still leftover from the period when wild rumours and conjecture were swirling around about prospective owners, is probably responsible, which would be an accurate insight into The Mail's research methods I suspect.
