yes you can, if you have one switch in the room get  a one way , if 2 get a two way, they can be nice and bright or as dull as your threads

Dimmer switches shouldn't be used with energy saving bulbs and if youve got low voltage lights they'll need to have dimable transformers. Hope that helps, nice but dim.
