Poitin is the stuff if you want to get smashed.
A friend of mind gave me a bottle a while back - mainly to use as a rub for my greyhounds. Tried a wee dram - fuck me it was undrinkable - not because of the taste but the actual effect of drinking it.

He gave it to me to rub on my dogs and not wishing to offend my Irish neighbour I took it but decided to swig it first.
It's still in the cupboard under the sink next to the Dosmestos - not much difference really!

haha, that stuff is lethal, 1st time i tried it i was on my arse after doing 2 shots... I have two versions, the barcardi 151 (with flame retarder) and Brugal (without flame retarder - which scares me!) only tends to be used on special occasions, though i have taken it in a hip flask to the cinema to mix with coke, i thought Aliens vs predator 2 was a comedy after that Where did you get hold of it as its not normally available in the UK? Never tried it unfortunately. Always wanted to, because I used to "enjoy" Absinthe of the same alcohol %, purely to feel tough, and I quite like rum. My dad used to have a bottle which I believe he got in the Caribbean.

If he gave it to you to rub on your dogs, why the fuck did you think drinking it was a good idea?

Cos it was poitine. He had some herbal concoction which I was supposed to mix with the poitine - but hey, who wouldn't give it a go!
Better than anti-freeze and after shave anyway

This is the water. And this is the well. Drink full and descend. The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within.

Maybe it's because I absolutely loathe cider, but I was surprised I found it rather nice.

You don't know how lucky you are with such a choice of braincell damaging intoxicants these days.
Back in the day it was
Watneys Red Barrel Double Diamond Tartan Starlight Cinzano (for the ladies, of course) Cider was restricted to some hillbilly farmer's hooch with bits of dead rat floating in it
Ah, the 70s - what a decade!

Haha, that's probably why... It did taste rather "beery" for something claiming to be a cider!
