No Harp, but the Guinness is way better than what is sold in the UK.

I don't drink Guinness, but do keep hearing that Irish Guinness is sooo much better than the Guinness sold over here.  Either this is complete bollocks/made up, or the Guinness corporation is really missing a trick.  Surely all they need to do is sell the lovely Irish Guinness over here as well, and they would sell more of the stuff.  It would sort of make sense.  No?

The Guinness sold over here is brewed in Ireland.

Has anyone tried Nigerian Guinness? It sounds badass.

I've drunk Guinness in Malaysia.

After 2-3 pints I was wondering why I felt pissed so soon. That's when I discovered it was 8% plus. Malaysians have a thing about super-strength beers (even the Guinness). Go to a corner shop and you'll find more tennents super on sale than any other brand, and more super-strength Guinness than normal Guinness.

And this was in Penang, which is where the regional Guinness brewery is.

ooh, this one is a golden jamacan one - a present/favour for being MC at my sister's wedding from a small stall by these folks - www.vomfassuk.com.

usually i go for mount gay or cockspur as i learned to drink rum in barbados.  i tend to like most golden rums but dislike spiced rums.

i shudder at the idea of mixing them with a soft drink - ice and lime is just fine unless the rum is decent enough to be had entirly on its own.

what's your poison?

I do like rum. A bog standard Havana Club 3yo white does the trick. I dont mind which way I have it but i do quite like a mixer.
Started enjoying whiskey a bit more as i get older. Got majorly put off in my early 20's after necking some horrible tesco's own :p

as far as white rum goes the havana 3yo is good actually.

i'm generally adverse to a mixer as far as most spirits go to be honest, obviously cocktails are exempt and if i'm forced to drink vodka i'll have it with lemonade or soda.

i do like a good whiskey too, the peaty ones are lovely.

tell me about golden glory?

i'm not familiar with badger - yes i am having googled them, i have been known to enjoy a fursty ferret a few years ago.

i do miss ales when i'm in france for the winter months, it's very rare thet i'll drink a lager when i'm in the uk.  the saving grace is that i work in the highest official guinness pub in the world for those months and free guinness is certainly not to be sniffed at.

in reply to other guinness related posts we do have many irish punters who have very good things to say about our guinness.
