One more reason it's good we're out of that poxy league...that was a bit rubbish.  A minute, maybe?  To cover 5 goals, and nearly 13,000 fans celebrating a title.

The other thing that struck me about that programme was how few of the League 1 sides there we should fear.  Paolo needs a rest, and then a good close season.  If he gets one, no reason at all why we can't put the likes of Yeovil and Tranmere to the sword next season.  Expect us to be comptetitive in 2012/13 at the very least.

I hope we are competitive next year, but I fear that we need a few changes. I think that the way we have played in the last few weeks has shown that. Think we have a nucleus, but it will be crucial that we get some more quality lions to replace a couple of chihuahuas.

Yes, a few changes are needed.  There was a thread on here in the last week or so where the general concensus was that we'll need about 5 more players of near Championship standard to be properly competitive next year.
Having heard JW on the radio post-match yesterday it seems that he and PdC are well aware of this and are making plans to get quality players in.  I am optimistic about doing this at the moment and already looking forward to next season.

Didn't hear that interview. Did he give any indications?

Always feel a bit sad for those who have been a fixture, tried hard and are then discarded because they are not good enough for the step up. The likes of De Vita, Risser, Connell, Kennedy spring to mind. I wonder too about Benson. He has shown in the past that L2 may be his standard as he struggled in L1.

I think that's a bit unfair. In his only ever season in League 1 with Charlton, he got 10 goals in 33 appearances. We'd take a similar return from him next year - just need a gun striker to play alongside him now! Paolo... get looking!

Alot of people say that about Benson. I don't personally think 10 goals in 26 starts is struggling at that level. Over the course of the season that goal to game ration is very decent

I agree, I think Benson was a hell of a swoop for League 2 and he'll still score in League 1, especially with a Paolo pre-season under his belt.

That equates to about 15-20 goals a season

Anybody would be foolish to turn their noses at that. We robbed Charlton.
