If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
A body of England's, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.

And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

As Henry V says in Act III.

'For Harry, England and St George'

If the Welsh, French, Scots, Americans and Candians can do it so can we!

Happy 'England Day' one and all!!

This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,--
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.

Born British, English by the grace of God.

Happy St Georges day.

And yes I am aware that St George was Roman soldier from Syria Palestine but he is still OUR patron Saint.

The Irish and Sots are encouraged to celebrate their national day.....we should too.

This is where i miss the old gaurd who legged it away from here when we embraced the free thinkingDiCanio.
We need PaulD and his mates to tell us not to be so happy being English and there's no such thing as the English anyway.

The England flags are flying proudly in Twickenham High Street. It's nice to see a town displaying their patriotism, something that's not seen very often nowadays for fear of offending people!

Really couldn't give a flying fuck.  I am in no way religious so the idea of celebrating seems odd to me.

Each to their own though.
