Try running it in safe mode. Try to find out what's causing it. If you can't, just keep running it in safe mode

Rule 1 never rule out a virus as sometimes they can infect important operating system files.
Is it a laptop or a desktop?
It could be an overheating processor, it could be a flakey hard drive, it could be some poor memory.
It could also be that the operating system needs reinstalling.
Has the laptop/PC been banged recently? has anything come unseated inside?
Lots of possible causes.

I have the same problem with my laptop. Think it's an issue with the hard drive.
My solution is quite simple. Turn it on. If it starts rebooting, turn it off, shake it, and try again. After a few rounds of this it tends to work. Then I don't move it for as long as possible and it's fine!
Just a pain when I have to take it somewhere, as I then have to go through the whole thing again.
