,history has shown that Di Canio will not let that happen.
Paolo has been absolutely brilliant so far - but I would suggest he hasn't been here for long enough for "history" to show us anything. He dealt with the Clark situation, yes. He's given us a great season so far. He's created a positive atmosphere we've not had in years. BUT - its not too long ago we were saying similar things about Wilson. Hindsight is a funny thing. I'm not being negative about Paolo in the slightest - I'm just saying we've not yet seen him a pressure situation in the last few weeks of a season - such as the situation being spoken about with regards to Wilson.

Well he has been in a pressure situation surely, after the Oxford result the team could have folded....just because we are all those points clear dosn't mean he hasn't been under pressure and the league table shows me that he has handled it well. Not only that he has had the death of his father to deal with as well not to mention all the shit the FA have been shoving his way.....pressure handled well in my book. Not a slight against Wilson at all,he came close and only time will tell if Paolo can take us one step further,or who knows maybe two!

I see Wilson's Sheffield Utd's form is beginning to slip. A familiar story unfolding there it would seem

Wilson does the same with every team. Does really well all season then loses the plot for the last few months. What is the betting Sheff U bottle the play offs?

I know non attendance shouldn't impact on results but I haven't been to a single game this season, after 3 seasons as an ST holder. I'm going to Wembley though

Interesting to read some of the comments on this subject.. No, I am not a moron for expressing my veiws. Last year when having my son asking me "why Swindon dad?" seeing STFC in such a melt down state and with all of his friends only have heard of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. I kept explaining to him...They will be all right, dream a little and it will happen....!!!. So, MaTanZa...go fuck yourself. Go back to school and learn to read. When reading "Very nearly yes" is not "yes I did"...You wanker. As for Andrew Fitton, I suggest in his brief spell in the top job he has proven to be true to his word and steered STFC through possibly OUR most darkest hours financially. Yes, a total saviour in my veiw. Now handed over to J. Wray who seems to have the midas touch. So well done A. Fitton and J.Wray My initial comments were more to do with PDC...what fantastic potential Swindon has whilst this guy is in Town. Long may it continue and I do envy all you lucky supporters being able to go to games week in and week out. Have great day at Wembley and with PDC in charge it will be a fantastic experience. Only wish I could have been there in person. Come on you reds

If we lose I stop supporting us for a month.... It's been nice this season to follow a team right the way through a season.

Looking back the Paynter episode still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, knowing he was off to Leeds weeks before the seasons end had an effect and he was pants those last few vital matches including the final. The two home matches...Walsall and Exeter just after the great win at Leeds were pivotal and the lack of a bigger squad to replace jaded players caught us out i reckon.
Fact is Wilson took his eye off the ball regarding fitness and off field antics at crucial times especially last season, history has shown that Di Canio will not let that happen.
Paynter was obviously told to "stop trying" as part of the Leeds contract. Leeds were doing the dirty to win promotion from a team (us) that were really starting to hit form, that worried them, lots! It's a bit like, but, sneakier than when Blackburn bought Shearer from us. It was a ploy to derail the STFC steam train. We were flying. We had a run in of games that had win written all oven them. leeds played the cash card to Paynter and the leaves hit the track. Guilt caught up with paynter for the final in IMO and the players knew it. That was the start of the end of Wilson

Everything went wrong at Wembley. Paynter 'took a dive' in boxing terms, Amankwha bottled it, the midfield vanished, the pitch hated us and it rained.
Which is why this time has to be different.

Yep Was saying just this to a Blades supporter a few weeks back when they were still going well. They won't go up, and they won't even get close next season.
