I need to get my cam belt changed on my car ....
Any ideas how much that is likely to set me back? Will I get change out of £300?

A cambelt, water pump and tensioner kit will usually set you back around £200, then you're looking at an hour or two of labour on top.

I did, but get the old bint who barely knows what day it is let alone how much something might cost! Service over the phone is not their strong point. From the sounds of it I should get some change out of £300 anyway!

It's usually cheaper if you supply the parts yourself.

Got mine done in Simpsons, in Highworth. They originally wanted £300 but I told them I could get it done for £237 in Fiddies. So that's what they charged me!
