There are so many internet sites out there that offer rentals. Can anyone recommend any for a short break? Not fussed where, but if there's a pub within walkable distance that would be a plus!

We use these often

I can recommend Orchard Lee at Langtree (near Bideford) (ORCCO property code), a lovely 3 bed cottage with a small hot tub attached and fairly reasonable prices.

Its only for 2.5 of us but need something not to expensive. Ideally around £350 mark for about 4 days.

Hi Sippo, try Toadhall cottages. I have used them a couple of times. Depends what you want really, they have a couple of really nice places near Slapton Sands and property all over Devon.

No specific requirements just want a break, so location isn't really an issue as we'll have the car.

We have used these several times - always had a great cottage. Some of the pubs in Brixham are a bit ropey though.

Have you thought of finding a pub that does B&B with a family room?

Haven't thought of that no. But could be a bit noisy?

Just a plug for a mate, but lovelanecaravans.com is his place.  Probably expensive as they have attached the word 'boutique' but its in a nice place on the roskillys farm which makes the best ice cream in the world (in my humble opinion - I was going to shorten that to imho but that looks a bit like im a ho)

Willowfield Lakes Cottages. About a mile from Braunton and walking distance to Saunton Sands. No pubs in walking distance though as the place is in the middle of nowhere, but can recommend a number of good eateries in the area. Has a heated indoor pool, hot tub and kids playroom on site and a fishing lake.
