I don't have one but I have a petrol one. Cracking bit of kit, I would have thought that an electric one would be a bit wimpy and a waste of money. Can't beat petrol power. I think you can buy smaller ones these days too. Be careful though, I have a lot of experience with mine and I still treat it as though it will chop a limb off without a second thought.

That's fair enough. If you are going to buy one at all I would buy a decent brand like the one you have mentioned. I would never waste good money on a cheap 'unknown' brand for the sake of a couple of quid. It's Tom by the way. I have been a Swindon fan for years and regular viewer of the TEF, thought it was time I signed up. Paul backskin was a gag name. Couldn't think of anything else.

The more members, the better advice on chainsaws your going to get, so appreciate your input Tom.
At the moment I'm using a Black and Decker Scorpion electric saw, takes me about 10-15 mins to cut a reasonably sized log in half, it's driving me nuts. People keep dropping us logs round all the time, and I'm getting further and further behind, the garage is bursting

I think I know the one you mean. Have you tried looking to see if B&D do a better attachment sawblade for the scorpion before looking down the road of a new piece of kit?

Have a look on screwfix then mate. Better prices normally unless they have a special offer on at the B&Q.

If you are looking to spend the £100 mark I would suggest the makita. They make quality products.
