Littl'uns birthday so went out for some grub with the family. Nice food but the service was unbelievably slow.

It was my youngest ones birthday today i had got her a ticket as all she wanted was to go to football with her dad for her birthday, so i had floods of tears when the game was called off, so i took her in town for a treat instead she settled for a pair of Hello Kitty shoes & 1 pair of slippers instead of the football. The shoes & slippers cost £8 her ticket to footie cost £12 + the food & drink so i was quids in, then she wanted to goto the pub so i could hardly refuse. 3 hours later & she had poured her first pint as a birthday surprise she was as happy as Larry walking home in the snow.

After this mornings queuing efforts I watched a film with the Mrs this afternoon which I fell asleep to after about 15 minutes.  Cooked dinner and to make up for being out all morning and falling asleep agreed to watch another film which the Mrs promptly fell asleep to after 15 minutes.  On the bright side however at least we managed a film between us today! Oh and I got an Oxford ticket!!!!

After getting back from The Fortress with my O***** tickets in hand I slept until 4, watched Soccer Saturday and the banter of Chris Kamara, had a chinese, went up Royal WB for a few bevvies and walked home in the snow realising the past 24 hours were a bit of a blur!

I worked from 7am to 4pm, had a quick slice of toast at home then went over to Swindon from Devizes in the snow (agree with earlier post about the gritters not being out - they were just going out about 6pm - the bit around Avebury was particularly bad). A few pints in the Rolleston as for once I wasn't the driver, then watched a few bands in The Furnace. Chicken burger from Mr Cod on way home, and slipped over coming through my garden gate.

Jutty out of interest was it quite a natural liking to football your little girl developed or did you have to encourage her a little bit?  I've got a  one year old at the moment and I was only having this conversation with my mrs the other day, about how many more girls like football thesedays. Mrs wasn't having any of it, but I still have hopes that she'll be walking down the County Road with me on the way to the CG.

To butt in, my kids came to the Macclesfield game and for the first time the eldest actually enjoyed it and was paying attention to the game.  Not just the sweets I'd bought her.

Little girls tend to idolise their dads.  Often because Dads are away working a lot so when they go off for 3 hours on a saturday afternoon, the little 'uns are fascinated and want to be with them.  So you'll probably find that the kid will want to go but you have to make sure its a good experience for them.   You see the problem is often when they get in the ground, at a young age they are bored.  So if you get her to come, make sure she has plenty to do.  The football is kind of a sideline to it.  They are more interested in rocking robin, sweets, capri sun and anything outside of the football until later years.

Ive signed them both up as Junior reds, which was £15 this year, they got a little bag and a pencil, which is very exciting to young girls and more importantly (to me) they get free tickets.

Hope you get your wish and in years to come get to do that walk down county road to the CG.

Had a lorry jackknife in front of us and hit the central reservation this morning on the M23. That was interesting.
