The APR should be irrelevant on these loans os you're not meant to be paying back over a year.
I had a £250 loan, and paid back £312.50 so for just over 60 quid I had my car on the road 2 weeks earlier than if I had to wait till payday.

My point is that a comparable APR has to be displayed in accordance with advertising laws and the headline APR frightens people off but over a short time the APR is irrelevant as you say.

Yes but don't like the surplus I would have paid for the pleasure, and having moved it recently, it was just one more monthly outgoing I could avoid by taking it on the chin at the start.

Not when you've got a d/d conviction and they've got you by the bollocks no - but as I say, that wasn't the more pressing concern, I didnt want another direct debit on top of everything else.
