To be fair queuing in these temperatures takes some doing.  Especially as, if the match is on, they'll go home warm up/thaw out, then go back and sit in the cold again for a couple of hours.

In my brother's case (and a few other out of towners, I'd imagine) you could substitute 'home' for 'to the pub'.

Silly me Ardiles, I'm turning into a domesticated dad thesedays. I suppose popping to the pub at opening having a few beers til 2.45pm will mean you won't feel the cold during the game, a few more beers and you'd probably not even notice the match has been called off!

That ground is a long way from civilisation.  A pack of huskies or a team of sherpas should do it.

I know. Train is a no go. It's either mini bus or with the window lickers on the coach...

Lined up at 5am, finally got my ticket at about 9:10. There were three windows open and two on the phone, the queue was right back as far as you could see so there will be a lot of disappointed people who have queued for the early hours who won't get a ticket.

I feel for the people who live absolutely miles away, but in hindsight the club should have said if you have a post code within 30 miles of the ground they won't serve to you on the phones. I think it's disgusting that some smug cunt sat in his central heated bedroom in Swindon gets a ticket as he rolls out of bed at 9, when there's people freezing their bollocks off out there who won't.

I don't recall the club advocating staying out all night to secure a ticket. We have plenty of season ticket holders outside the 30 mile radius.

In this situation it's impossible for the club to please everyone.

We just need rivals with proper grounds.
