Read a couple of posts and Jack1 on MyOnly has reported it's on radio Swindon that moves for Smith and Jones have been blocked by the board.

Anyone else herd the same?

No replacement funny tubby man for Swindon this season after the departure of Brian Howard.

Bugger if they have, hopefully that won't include any future loan moves.

Seems ridiculous in the fashion that it sounds like King has been trying to get players in for the board to turn round and say not today thankyou.

You would like to think they could have  told him first rather than decide after he made a move and for it all to get out into the public.

Similar to Bradley Orr last season it not only looks poor in the eyes of the fans and public and makes King look a bit more of a tit.  If it's a football decision rather than money issue like Orr then it makes it all a 100 times worse.

If it's true then whoever does the finances should be fired!

It is that simple. You have a budget, when players sign you know what's left so to turn round and say sorry that's it when King has been promised more is bad management. I could do the finances better at the club.

I hope it's wrong, and I hope it's not a football decision either. The squad is too small to get us through the season taking into account injuries etc.

Well, only the other day you're hearing 'rumours' that Readings chairman paid the Lita transfer fee out his own pocket...

Official site would suggest this is not true.

King is still looking to add to his squad with just a few weeks now until the season opens at Barnsley on August 6th, with a central midfielder and centreback still topping his priorities - although goalkeeping cover may also be on the agenda.

"I am waiting to hear from Smith still. I spoke to Gary Jones but I can't hang on and on with these things. As for Paul McShane, he has a choice to make but I got a call today to say he was playing for Manchester United's First X1 at Peterborough tonight (Tuesday). I still need those two players to come in at the moment to give us the squad we need.

"The lad Michael Jordan has come in and been given an opportunity and played a half. He didn't have a lot to do but will get another chance. It is not a threat to Bulman as such, but Rhys Evans needs competition there. Jordan is down the pecking order at Highbury and there maybe a possibility that we maybe able to take him on loan, depending on the circumstances but we will see how things go."
