I expect money to be the root cause of any move. Rotherham have a bigger catchment area. Crawley have Brighton one way and South London the other. They would struggle to grow organically. They did sell Tubbs and the other guy like we rolled over and sold Duncan Shearer.

That told Evans everything. Besides as others have alluded to the pies are better in Yorkshire.

That maybe so, but the timing is odd, given that Crawley are banging on the door of promotion. You'd thought Evans would want that on his cv first before making a summer move.

Don't let my comments ruin your day.

You're entitled to your opinion.

What got your goat? Why the fuck would your comments ruin my day? I was disagreeing with your assessment. Its kind of how public forums work, you post an opinion then people agree or disagree with it.

Evans is and would also be a statement of intent for Rotherham if true, again, on a different level to us.

I just don't see it that way.

You lose your argument on the first line of your third paragraph,

Oh well then there is no point continuing is there. It practically as good as putting "fact!" at the end of a sentence.

You clearly have let your personal feelings of Evans, someone you don't know get in the way of an (my) objective post.

Thanks for telling me how I think, I'll bare it in mind Wink

IF he goes to Rotherham we'll see how he does with a probable more modest budget.

Rotherham is undoubtedly a step up in his career. I personally think his abrasive manner and antics will hold him back. I do not see him as a bright young prospect. Fact!

The timing of this is bizarre.  Not sure I can remember a manager moving to a rival team so late in the season with so much still to play for.  Crawley are on the verge of making club history - but just goes to show, I suppose, that 'Project Promotion' was a house of cards and was never a sustainable objective.  Regardless of whether they do go up again this time, expect to see them back at their natural level (Conference/Conference South) within a few seasons.

If you look at it from the Crawley directos point of view it might not be that bad. I'd imagine they'd receive some compensation for him. They might actually be sick of his antics and he has possibly  fucked up automatic promotion from a fantastic position. They might be glad to get rid and appoint someone who can get them over the finishing line and help them get away from their cunt tag. .

He signed a new contract this year until 2014 so they will get compensation.

At least it removes the dilemma should Crawley meet Pox in the playoffs

The only time Evans has had 'success' as a manager it's been wither by paying their players illegally, which he then tried to cover up, at Boston, or overspending at Crawley via 'Project Promotion', which they got lucky last season by getting the windfall of drawing Man U in the Cup.

Hopefully he'll get sacked within 6 months.

I don't see Crawley looking beyond Craig Brewster for their next manager. Cheaper option and, in fairness, plenty of coaching experience.

Of course, I hope Crawley's demise causes them to lose at least one of the next couple of games, as that will mean we can clinch promotion on Saturday if we beat both Northampton and Plymuff.

Looking at Rotherham's fixtures it is not beyond the possibility of them winning
four out of their five remaining games and scraping into the play-offs. The
hardest game they really have is Shrewsbury away, and the Shrews have not
lost at home at all this season and every team loses at least one at home.
Could Evans do the unthinkable?  Hmmm
