Til the first day of the ashes. It is going to be class. There is so much to look forward to. Pieterson on debut and some untried people. Flintoff has never played a test v the ozzies. And Hoggard has improved 10 fold since he last played them. Simon Jones and Geraint Jones have never played them and Strauss. Vaughn has dropped to 3 in the batting. Harmison has also become a key player compared to a change bowler. In fact it is fair to say that sunce we last played the Ozzies the team is totally different while the Ozzies have changed little. They still have Lee, McGrath, Gillespee, Gilchrist, Hayden, Langer, Martyn, Warne, Kasprowich and MacGill (although I think they were in the squad but didn't actually play. In fact it is fair to say that they are nearly unchanged apart from the retirement of the Waugh brothers.
Oh dear I am so excited!

I hope we bowl first, i'll be feelin pretty nervous if we have to bat and we lose an early wicket, which is bound to happen....can't wait for Thursday though Is it a 10.30am or 11am start?

I've a bad feeling the aussies will win,we haven't beaten them in a lords test since 1934 or something.Hope i'm wrong beause i have been really looking forward to these ashes test matches,at last they are starting.I fear that come saturday i will be consolling myself with the Botham's ashes dvd i will be purchasing today. Is it a 10.30am or 11am start?
The first test starts at 10.25a.m according to my Guardian guide to the ashes.

who should i bet on? (i need to make cricket slightly interesting so i don't mis out) National Pride suggests you should back England. http://www.spacespider.net/emo/signs049.gifRational thinking suggest putting everything you own on the Aussies.

I can't see us winning the series, but losing 3-1 or 3-2 should be the minimum aim. I think losing by more than 2 tests would be considered a disaster!
