Fair enough if he wants to put the hours in down the gym, but surely that's got to be more of a hindrance than a help on the football pitch.
On what basis? I certainly wouldn't know but I'd imagine to look like that you need to be uber fit?

Some of the pictures on this thread made me wonder which direction it was heading in!

Different type of fitness. His muscles will be accustomed to short bursts at very high intensity, I imagine he'd lack the stamina to last 90 minutes.

This is the water. And this is the well. Drink full and descend. The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within.

To be honest, if he wanted to, you wouldn't have much choice.

I would imagine having that much upper body muscle is more of a hindrance than anything when playing football. He can probably lift a car up with one arm but what use is that on the football field ?
You need to be muscular but lean with it for football. He looks like 50 Cent.

It depends what sort of cardio work he does though doesnt it.
Rugby players are well built but they can still move - and as for the wrestlers or 'sports entertainers' some of them are huge but their cardio conditioning is top notch.

They're releasing some "2 big for football" t-shirts this month.
Bayo was sat holding one up with a Northampton shirt with 100 on the back. Career goals I suppose?

Rugby players are well built and reasonably quick in a straight line. For football, you need to be nimble and agile like Simon Ferry, Matt Ritchie or Paul Caddis.

Tell that to Frank Worthington, Stan Bowles or Tony Currie
